Hotel holiday

First you decide where to stay, then every morning where to go. Both sit on the same map: the places to stay you are choosing between and the destinations for the days in between, so you can see what lies close together.

No base: a different place every night, and the road in between is the holiday. So the plan is a sequence of numbered stops, with overnight stays and breaks, and between two stops you see the driving time and the distance.

Camping

The site is the destination, not an address to sleep at. It is named after the bay it sits on, and what matters about it goes into the note on the place: how steep the access road is, whether there is shade, how far it is to the water.

Where you moor for the night, the wind decides in the morning. So the plan needs more than one destination a day: harbours and anchorages as options side by side, and ashore the bakery that opens early.

Anything else you like to collect on a map has a place there too, such as favourite restaurants, weekend outings or tips for visitors. What else you can do with it

  • Your own categoriesWith a colour or one of 81 symbols. The legend on the map shows only what matters right now with a single tap.
  • One trip, several peopleEveryone invited sees the same map, adds comments and notes, and rates places.

The holiday planner shows the whole year: your holidays, the school holidays of your region and the public holidays. Two clicks on free days create a new holiday.

  • School and public holidaysFor Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, by state or region.
  • Leave days per personIn the travel profile you set who travels along and how many days of leave each person has. The planner works out what is left.
  • SuggestionsDashed periods are ones where a few days of leave give you many days off.

You can bring the first people in before anything is settled. An account is free, and up to 10 places in a portal of your own are free as well. For more there are the Expedition and Atlas plans; anyone invited to a portal with a subscription plans along there without one of their own.
